DESCRIPTION:Inside Hayes Adit\nBored with the surface of Wicklow Mountains? \nThis is your opportunity to explore beneath them.  Get up close and personal with\, and below\, the industrial/mining heritage of Glendasan.  Ed has organised a guided trip into Hayes Adit (part of mine complex in the valley) to whet pre-bbq whistles. \nA sporting trip\, with plenty to see. Local mineralogy and geomorphology by Nick. \nCommon sense will be provided by Jill in this case.😀 \nInside wet adit\nThe adit is wet\, and water levels vary from waist to armpit deep\, to ankle\, so; \n\nWetsuit required.\nWellies\,\nGloves\nHelmet with light (fully charged!).\nBack-up light (also fully charged!!).\nNo harm to have a cagoule or similar.\nMars Bar + water.\n\nHut briefing 12.00 – Depart 13.00 – Back 17.00 \nWill have experienced cavers and mining heritage types along for guidance. \nAlthough it is a recently worked (1950’s)\, and stable (enough) mine we like to keep things safe (ish)…. so max 15 lucky members … don’t all rush at once! \nParking Because of the barbecue there will be NO PARKING at the Hut. We have permission from the Conway family to park in their field. Please use the entrance just above the Hut and turn right through the first gateway at the bottom of the hill. \nBBQ-Parking\n
