The Club organises both outdoor and indoor events throughout the year. Outdoor events–known as “meets”–tend to be:
Indoor events include:
- climbing,
- yoga for climbers,
- presentations, and
- competitions.
Events are for members only, unless otherwise stated; access to these member-only events is one of the benefits of membership.
You can find out the exact details of an event–such as date, time, location and organiser–by checking the Calendar; bear in mind that many events are organised only a few weeks or months in advance, so don’t be disheartened if the Calendar looks a bit empty more than six months into the future.
For information about events in general, or to propose an event, please contact our Meets Secretary (meets@irishmountaineeringclub.org).

Indoor events
Climbing
Members of the Club meet informally indoors:
- Every Tuesday evening at Dublin Climbing Centre (DCC), Dublin.
- Every Thursday evening at Awesome Walls, Dublin.
To find a climbing partner, either make arrangements in advance on member-only communications channels, or turn up and make yourself known.
Note that attendance during summer months will be considerably lower, especially on Thursdays, because many members of the Club meet outdoors instead (see above).
Yoga for climbers
The Club organises climber-specific yoga sessions at the two indoor venues mentioned above (DCC and Awesome Walls).
These sessions are open to non-members, but they only go ahead if a minimum number of people have committed in advance to attend them.
You can find out the exact dates when these sessions occur by checking the Calendar; dates are also usually announced on both public social media and member-only communications channels.
Presentations
During the winter we arrange speakers from inside and outside the Club to present on topics of interest; typically, but not exclusively, these presentations occur at the Teachers’ Club, Dublin.
These presentations are open to non-members.
You can find out the exact dates when these presentations occur by checking the Calendar for winter months; dates are also usually announced on both public social media and member-only communications channels.
