What Online Resources Do The Committee Have (DropBox, GoogleDocs, etc)?
It is often useful to be able to share resources and documents online so that everyone on the committee has access.
This can be used for backups of important information or for sharing work-in-progress. Due to the infrequent nature of the committee meetings, often the only way to make progress in some areas is to share a document that we all have access to and can read & update.
If you require access to any of these resources and are unsure of the passwords, please ask the Webmaster.
Google Docs
The IMC has its own Google account (login: irishmountaineeringclub@gmail.com). This should not be used for sending emails (any mails sent to this address will be forwarded on to secretary@irishmountaineeringclub.org).
Having logged in using the above criteria, this is where you can access Google Docs and Google Sheets for documents and spreadsheets.
Committee members can either access them directly using the above IMC login or be sent a link to appropriate documents to their own email addresses. The latter approach is useful as it means change history can be tracked against individual users.
DropBox
There is a Committee DropBox account (login: committee@irishmountaineeringclub.org). This can be used for backups and temporary storage. For example, weekly backups of the GroupSpaces members database are made and stored here under “GroupSpace Backups\Membership Database“.
There is also a Publicity DropBox account (login: publicity@irishmountaineeringclub.org). This is generally used for temporary storage of articles and photos for upcoming newsletters.
