The IMC Librarian is in charge of the IMC books and archives.
IMC Library
IMC Library contains 761 books in June 2014 (see attachment)
The library is part of the Mountaineering Ireland Library since 2013.

In the past IMC members donated books to the club.
If the librarian gets more books :
- Check with Karl Boyle (karl@mountaineering.ie) in Mountaineering Ireland if the books can be added to the library.

Enter as much information as possible: title, author’s name, publication date, publisher’s name, condition, owner, genre, subject, dewey quote, donator’s name and date of donation, plot and picture cover.

Members can either collect the books at MI Office or check with the librarian (librarian@irishmountaineeringclub.org) who can organise collection and bring them in Awesome Walls, Dalkey or Teachers’ Club.
IMC Archives
IMC Archives are stored in a cabinet in the cow shed in the Glendasan Hut.
The cabinet is locked, check with the hut warden for the keys.
Archives start from pre 1948. They are sorted by year and contain minutes, agendas, meets calendars, list of members, accountings, new routes descriptions, articles from newpaper and various correspondances.
Film projector Bell and Howell is stored in the cow shed. It was checked and cleaned in 2013. It’s in good condition.
Films shoot in the early time of the IMC are stored in the Archives of the Irish Film Insitute. They are also saved on a DVD and stored in the hut.
Paper photos have been scanned and are saved on a DVD which can be found in the cabinet.
Since the creation of the website, most of the IMC related documents are on an IMC Website. Check with the webmaster to access them.
Donation:
Members or family members donated archives → stored them in the hut classify by year and add them to the index.
Inquiry:
Few inquiries mainly for research have been made.
So far an index have been created up to 1955, still a lot to do…
