Dalkey 40 – climbing marathon
September 22, 2018
The Dalkey 40 is back for 2018 – start early, climb as many routes as you can, raising money for a local charitable cause.
All climbing teams will pre-rig a few anchors each, meaning all teams can benefit from belay anchors “ready to clip”. There will be a barbecue and a finale of routes by glostick and headtorch. Open to all, non climbing helpers also very welcome. So far only two teams have ever managed the 40 – Michael Duffy & Conor Orr, Sean Doherty and Niall Hedderman. So rise to the challenge and join in the festival atmosphere this year.
Charitable cause:
This year a sensory room for children with special needs, in Donabate Boys National School, that all children in the school will benefit from. Sensory rooms give resource teachers the means to increase or decrease stimulation for children who struggle with the standard class room experience – often used as a reward following 1:1 break out sessions
