El Chorro Sport Climbing Trip

Enjoy sport climbing in the sunshine at El Chorro in the Andalusian mountains of Southern Spain
El Chorro is one of the largest and most popular climbing destinations in Andalucia, It is set amongst the beautiful landscape of the El Chorro Gorge
The El Chorro sport climbing area offers more than a 1000 routes of various difficulty. There are many long multi-pitch climbs, as well as a host of easily accessible single-pitch sport lines across a wide range of grades from beginner to pro climbs
Apart from climbing there is also via ferrata & the Camino del Rey gorge trail walk
The trip will be 6 days from Tuesday 5th March until Sunday 10th, the climbing area is about 1 hours drive from Malaga airport, car hire is necessary although there is a train station in El Chorro
Flight Details:
Dublin to Malaga Tues 5th March 2024 – 6:10am Ryanair FR7044
Malaga to Dublin Sunday 10th March 2024 – 11.05am Ryanair FR7045 (there is also a later return flight at 9pm if you want to squeeze every minute of climbing out of the holiday)

You should be competent at lead belaying and be comfortable climbing or seconding at HS trad or 5a upwards sport
Minimum Equipment required:
Harness, helmet, belay device, 2 x slings, quickdraws, shoes, 2 x carabiners, 1 x maillon, 60 or 70m rope between 2 people, suncream
