Little Sugar Loaf and Bray Head: Sun Feb 13
February 13 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm
Sunday promises to be a cool, dry day. Gerry Moss has offered to lead a hike which will start from the free car park in Kilruddery Estate, on the outskirts of Bray and go by farm road and field boundary to the foot of the Little Sugarloaf. We will make a N to S traverse of this mountain, which, though modest in height, has a couple of rocky tops and affords splendid views. We then drop down to the Belmont Demesne for a lunch break (bring your own or avail of the hot drinks and sticky buns on sale here). We then make our way through the greenwoods, followed by a short road walk, to the Windgates track up on to the Bray Head ridge, which we will traverse from S to N, taking in all the humps and pumps on the way, to the cross overlooking the town. From there we descend by a path to the road and the car park. A little under 4 hours at my pace, just over 3 at yours. We meet at the Kilruddery car park at 10.45 and will be on our way by 11. Fáilte raibh gach.
